The Histories of Unknown Neighbours

Monika Vrzgulová is a specialist on the collective memory of the Holocaust in Slovakia since the 1990s. In this lecture she will analyse Holocaust testimonies of Jewish survivors and also of non-Jewish witnesses, and will consider what these testimonies have in common, how they are structured, and the extent to which they in are agreement or in conflict with today’s policies of remembrance in Slovakia.
